Pustevny / Wallachian Open air Museum
Vallachian Open air MuseumEarly in the morning we take the bus to the popular place called Pustevny. Charming wooden structures that dominate the mountain ridge have very long history and today belong among real architectural pearls of the whole Moravia. After lunch in a stylish restaurant Libušín we will make a short walk to the look-out tower Cyrilka and to the statue of a Slavonic god Radegast. In the afternoon bus takes us back to Rožnov where we visit the Wallachian Open-air museum and watch some folklore singing an dancing.

Trail to the sacred mountain Radhošť
The top of RadhostThis trail is wonderful and takes about 3 hours to get to the top of the legendary Radhošť the most popular mountain in Beskydy. We start the hike early in the morning from Rožnov pod Radhoštěm . For snack we stop in a local stylish restaurant called "Chata Mír" in English " Cottage of Peace" . On the top of Radhošť stand old famous chapel of the missionaries Cyril and Method and wooden belfry. For lunch we make a short break in a mountain hotel Radegast named after Slavonic god of fertility in both meanings. After lunch we walk on towards the Pustevny, the place where outstanding folk architecture would astonish you. Transport is by bus.

Trip to the castle Hukvaldy
Under the legendary ruin of the Hukvaldy castle we get by bus from Rožnov. Medieval castle Hukvaldy built in 13. century used to be in the past the largest one in northeast Moravia. In community Hukvaldy was born and lived famous composer Leoš Janáček. Today can we visit museum that commemorates this famous personality.

Admire wooden architecture
Church of st. Bedřich From Rožnov p.R we will take a bus to the village Hlavatá where is situated a beautiful colorful wooden chapel. Then we move further to the community of Bílá that is known for its Church of st. Bedřich built in Norwegian style and for the wooden castle ( today a hotel). In the whole community wooden architecture prevails. Bílá is also an important ski resort. By bus we return to Rožnov.

Trip to an early history
Štramberk is an unique small town that is dominated by the viewing tower called Trúba, remains of the medieval castle. Original complex of wooden houses that forms this place is a world curiosity which was proposed to be included among sights protected by UNESCO. Some remains of the jaw of the primeval human and some primeval instruments were found in a cave called Šipka which is situated on the top of limestone hill Kotouč. Štramberská trůba

Visit village Velké Karlovice
In Velké Karlovice can still be found many well preserved folks architecture buildings including a log church with a parish from the year 1752, Wallachian town hall and some old still residential houses .To get back to Rožnov p.R. we might take the bus or walk.

Rožnov pod Radhoštěm
Rožnov's squareVery beautiful town lying on the river Bečva in the valley between Moravian's Beskydy mountains and Javornik's and Vsetin's highlands. In a large park surrounding the town used to relax patients in the past when Rožnov was a famous climatic spa. Modern town can boast of its newly rebuilt square. Visitors can choose from vast variety of sport and cultural activities including swimming in a modern open or indoor pool with tobogan, playing tennis, horseback riding, playing minigolf, jumping on trampoline etc. Surrounding mountains offer 145 km of marked trail for hikers but they are also a challenge for mountain bikers. In winter visitors can enjoy skiing on many nearby hills and slopes also in the late evening. Also an ice rink is here. The pride of Rožnov is Wallachian wooden open-air living museum, that in the spirit of its legacy offers colorful programs the whole year around where local and foreign folklore ensembles perform their dancing and singing skills.

To get know Rožnov from other sides
To make your stay more interesting you can include in your program a short excursion to one or more rather small factories where they produce some unusual products. For example: beautifully decorated candles, glass artefacts including Bohemian Crystal, processing of semi-precious stones, making of local liqueurs, etc. In mentioned factories you can see the whole process of production of these unique products with explanation in English or in German. You will of course get the opportunity to buy the articles direct in the factory.
